Jessup Moot Court Team Wins Regionals

Boston College Law School’s Jessup International Law Moot Court team (shown above) won the Northeast Regional competition, held in New York City last weekend. Third-year students Remi Kathawa, Dillon Smith, Tony Masero and Walter Rodriguez will be advancing to the international rounds, to be held in Washington, D.C. April 5-12.

The BC Law team took first out of 24 teams overall in the region.  Of the approximately 100 oralists, the team had three in the top ten: Walter Rodriguez (6th), Remi Kathawa (5th), and Tony Masero (3rd). BC Law also won 5th best memorial.

According to its website, the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the world’s largest moot court competition, with participants from over 550 law schools in more than 80 countries. The competition simulates a dispute between countries before the United Nation’s International Court of Justice.
