Danette Mincey '96 

Danette Mincey, a former Navy judge advocate who has served as a veterans law judge for the Board of Veterans Appeals (BVA) since 2021, was elected a trustee of the National Judicial College, the nation’s oldest and largest school for judges. The BVA is an administrative tribunal within the Department of Veterans Appeals in Washington, DC. From 2016-2021, she was a federal administrative law judge with the Social Security Administration in Charleston, SC.


Lawrence A. Ruttman ’58

Lawrence Ruttman is the author of Intimate Conversations: Face to Face with Matchless Musicians, published by Torchflame Books in October 2024. In the book, Larry converses with 21st-century musicians to discover the influences and inspiration behind classical music and other popular genres impacting today’s music culture. 


Thomas A. Connors ’76

Thomas Connors was appointed to a five-year term on the State Ethics Commission. Prior to his retirement in 2020, he had served for twenty-five years with the Massachusetts Trial Court, the last sixteen as a justice of the Superior Court.


Christopher G. Mehne ’77

Christopher Mehne retired from the Worchester, MA, office of Bowditch & Dewey LLP, where he was a partner in the firm’s estate, tax and financial planning group. He spent his entire legal career with Bowditch, beginning as a summer associate in 1976 following his 2L year at BC Law School.


Philip D. O’Neill ’77

Philip O’Neill, an active international and domestic arbitrator, was recently appointed by a panel of the European Commission to resolve sovereign trade disputes. His many past roles include adjunct professorships at leading national law schools, including BC Law.   


Chris C. Tsouros ’80

Chris Tsouros joined Verrill Dana LLP as a partner in the Boston office’s real estate group. He counsels his clients in the strategic planning, implementation, and successful disposition of significant complex, diverse, and highly visible transactions, with acquisitions/dispositions, financings, and leasing monetized at billions of dollars in aggregate value in each category.


Margaret E. Sheehan ’83

Meg Sheehan appeared on WGBH radio on October 9 to discuss how a sand mining operation in Southeastern Massachusetts has impacted drinking water, ecosystems, and Indigenous communities. She maintains an active litigation practice called Save the Pine Barrens, representing nonprofits and community activists seeking to advance climate and environmental justice goals, land and water protection, and biodiversity.


Ralph F. Holmes ’84

Ralph Holmes has retired after a thirty-eight-year career at McLane Middleton in New Hampshire.


Margie Palladino ’85

Margie Palladino and her nonprofit, Mass Family Advocacy Coalition, worked to raise awareness and educate the public on domestic coercive control. The efforts contributed to the passing of the Coercive Control Bill last June, which recognizes coercive control as a type of domestic violence. 


Hon. David F. Bauman ’86

Hon. David Bauman, who first joined Bressler, Amery & Ross PC in Florham Park, NJ, in 1991, has returned to the firm upon retirement after serving sixteen years as a judge in the Superior Court of New Jersey. He is now a principal in the firm’s commercial litigation practice group.


Kate J. Barton ’87

Kate Barton has been named global chief executive of Dentons, the world’s largest global law firm with a presence in more than eighty countries. She previously served as the global vice chair of tax, law, and people advisory services at Ernst & Young (EY) and was a member of its Global Executive Board.


Mathew S. Rosengart ’87

Mathew Rosengart moderated the panel “Trends and Hot Button Issues for Entertainment Lawyers and Litigators” at the inaugural 2024 Entertainment Law Summit hosted by the Beverly Hills Bar Association. He was named Benchmark Litigations Entertainment Litigator of the Year. His Greenberg Traurig clients include movie greats, star athletes, and, most famously, Britney Spears.


Julianne Kurdila ’89

Julianne Kurdila moved to the law department from the environmental group at Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. in Cleveland, OH, where she is a senior environmental attorney. She advises the mining and steel company on proposed federal and state environmental regulations, permitting issues, and administrative actions.


Stephen F. Lynch ’91

Massachusetts Representative Stephen Lynch has a new position as co-chair at the Congressional FIFA World Cup 2026 Caucus. He has served in Congress since 2001.


Matthew J. Nestor ’91

Matthew Nestor was confirmed in August by the Governor’s Council to serve on the Massachusetts Superior Court. Previously, he was as an associate justice on the District Court, where he presided over his own courtroom for nearly two decades.


Erin Higgins ’91

Erin Higgins is a managing partner in the Boston office of Conn Kavanaugh. She focuses on defending attorneys and counseling them on ethical matters. She also handles business litigation and insurance coverage matters.


Roland Sanchez-Medina ’91

Roland Sanchez-Medina was elected president of the Florida Bar for the 2024-2025 term. He is a partner at Sanchez-Medina, Gonzalez, Quesada, Lage, Gomez & Machado LLP, a full-service Miami firm specializing in transactions, commercial litigation, and alternative dispute resolution.


Allison Cartwright ’92

Allison Cartwright in November won election as clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court for Suffolk County, Massachusetts, where she will handle the admission of lawyers to the bar, oversee matters of attorney discipline, and manage the high courts’ single-justice cases. She previously was managing director of the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Boston.


Patricia A. Markus ’92

Trish Markus served a one-year term as president of the American Health Law Association after having held various leadership roles at AHLA since 2006. She practices health law, focusing on health information privacy and technology issues at Nelson Mullins in Raleigh, NC.


Kathrin P. Belliveau ’93

Kathrin Belliveau has a new position as chief policy officer at The Toy Association, Inc. She previously served as executive vice president and chief purpose officer at Hasbro, Inc.


Donna Lamontagne ’93

Donna Lamontagne, a founding partner at Lamontagne, Spaulding & Hayes LLP in Cranston, RI, was elected the 2024-2025 president of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the preeminent, invitation-only global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests. She has more than thirty years of jury trial and civil litigation/appellate experience in courts.


Eugenia Carris ’94

Eugenia Carris is general counsel at the Massachusetts Office of the Inspector General. She previously was an assistant attorney in the US Attorney’s office.


Carolyn Gouges D’Agincourt ’94

Carolyn D’Agincourt joined Verrill Dana LLP as a partner in the Boston office’s intellectual property group. She counsels clients to maximize their national and international intellectual property positions through patent prosecution strategy, patent application preparation and prosecution, patent enforcement and licensing, trademark registration and enforcement, and trade secret protection.


Ellen Zucker ’94

Ellen Zucker, upon the closure of Burns & Levinson, the Boston firm where she had worked for seventeen years, launched Zuker Law Group LLP as the founding and managing partner. She did so with several former colleagues, including Paul Mastrocola ’95, also a founding partner of the new firm. Zucker Law will focus on business litigation, employment law, and criminal defense.


Ingrid Chiemi Schroffner ’95

Ingrid Chiemi Schroffner, senior associate attorney at UMass Chan Medical School, published a book entitled Something in That Space. The book is composed of five song collections and explores the importance of human connection and the inevitability of life’s changes.


Albert A. Dahlberg ’96

Al Dahlberg is an affiliate of the Policy Lab and assistant vice president of the Office of Government and Community Relations at Brown University, where he oversees operations and strategic direction of the office. Prior to joining Brown, he was deputy Rhode Island secretary of state and chief of staff to the Rhode Island Secretary of State.


Belinda Taylor ’96

Belinda Taylor was elected to the Board of Governors of the DC Bar for the 2024-2025 term. She is a medical-legal partnership/hospital-based violence intervention programs consultant who focuses on gun violence prevention using the medical-legal partnership model in nontraditional ways.


Brian G. Cafferty ’97

Brian Cafferty joined GoldMark Partners LLP as a partner in the Boston office. He is a commercial real estate attorney with extensive experience in real estate, corporate governance, and finance. He was the former VP of legal affairs at Combined Properties, a real estate and investment firm.


Lance B. Lee ’97

Lance Lee has joined Arnall Golden Gregory’s Atlanta office as a partner in the international practice. He has extensive experience in international arbitration and litigation, particularly involving Korean companies. He previously practiced law in Seoul, South Korea, for over twenty years.


Geaneen M. Arends ’98

Geaneen Arends has been named to Crain’s Detroit Business’s 2024 Notable Black Business Leaders. She is a shareholder and vice president in Butzel Long’s Detroit office, concentrating her practice on mergers and acquisitions, general business law, and commercial real estate.


Jennifer A. Shoemaker ’99

Jennifer Shoemaker, partner at Underberg & Kessler LLP in Rochester, NY, was named a  2024 “Attorney of the Year” by The Daily Record and Rochester Business Journal. She was selected based on her dedication to the legal profession and commitment to clients and the community. She is in the firm’s family law, labor and employment, and litigation practice groups.


Heather Suffin ’99

Heather Suffin, who served as an assistant prosecutor for twenty-four years, was promoted to first assistant prosecutor in Bergen County, NJ. She is the first woman to hold the position.


Joseph Mueller ’00

Joseph Mueller, co-chair of WilmerHale’s trial practice, was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers, the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America. The organization honors attorneys whose careers of notable courtroom achievements and contributions to the field place those lawyers at the forefront of the nation’s trial bar.


Peter M. Skinner ’00

Peter Skinner has a new position as co-lead of the white-collar and government defense practice group at Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP in New York City. He previously was a partner at Morrison & Foerster LLP in New York. He is a hybrid civil and criminal litigator who represents companies, financial institutions, boards, and individuals through all phases of investigation and litigation.


Megan M. Belcher ’01

Megan Belcher was appointed chief legal officer and corporate secretary for Kohler Co. in Kohler, WI. She oversees all global legal, compliance, assurance, advisory, and security matters and maintains best practices in these areas. She was previously senior vice president at Scoular, a global agribusiness company.


Gail M. Hire ’01

Gail Hire, counsel, joined the Boston office of Verrill Dana LLP. A former engineer, she focuses her practice on real estate matters with environmental components, such as development permitting, enforcement defense, regulatory compliance, analysis and negotiation of business contracts, and environmental litigation.


Peter F. Durning ’03

Peter Durning joined the Boston office of Verrill Dana LLP as a partner. He is a seasoned environmental attorney who focuses on water and wetlands-related matters, ranging from permitting and land use to enforcement defense and litigation. He also performs environmental due diligence for real estate, corporate transactions, and development projects.


Carolyn M. Welshhans ’03

Carolyn Welshhans joined the Washington, DC, office of Morgan Lewis and Bockius LLP as a partner. She advises public companies, financial institutions, start-up companies, executives, and other individuals on matters involving the Securities and Exchange Commission, self-regulatory organizations, and other domestic and international law enforcement authorities.


Julia V. Wilde ’05

Julia Wilde was promoted to partner at Shipman & Goodwin LLP in Hartford, CT. She is a member of the firm’s school law practice group and advises educational institutions on various general education, special education, and labor and employment issues.


Tracy Hresko Pearl ’06

Tracy Pearl is the William J. Alley Professor of Law at the University of Oklahoma. She teaches criminal law, criminal procedure, torts, and professional responsibility and researches and writes about law and emerging technology.


Rudolph W. Ogden III ’08

Rudolph Ogden was nominated by Governor Sununu to serve as a New Hampshire Superior Court justice and was confirmed by the Executive Council on August 30. Prior to becoming the governor’s attorney, he worked at the New Hampshire Department of Labor, first as general counsel and later as deputy commissioner.


Garrett Johnston ’09

Garrett Johnston was promoted to managing partner at the Houston office of O’Melveny & Myers LLP. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and investments involving private capital.


Peter Obersheimer ’10

Peter Obersheimer was a recipient of the  Association of Corporate Counsel’s 2024 “Top 10 30-Somethings” award, honoring in-house counsel for their innovation, approach to challenges, and qualities that serve the greater good. He is associate general counsel and head of litigation at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.


Victoria M. Santoro ’10

Victoria Santoro was elected president of the Massachusetts Bar Association for 2024-2025. She co-founded the Boston personal injury firm of Santoro & Gray Law and handles a variety of cases, including UBER/rideshare collisions, pharmaceutical litigation, wrongful death, product liability, and sexual assault.


Louis V. Sorgi III ’10

Louis Sorgi was promoted to partner at the Boston office of the international law firm Proskauer. As a member of the private funds group, he specializes in representing private funds and private funds sponsors across all aspects of their operations.



Asher Alavi ’11

Asher Alavi was promoted to partner of Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check LLP, in Radnore, PA. Alavi focuses his practice on whistleblower representation, including in matters filed under the qui tam provisions of the False Claims Act.


Lauren Giudice ’12

Lauren Giudice, the vice president, deputy general counsel, and assistant secretary at Boston Mutual Life Insurance, was selected to join the American Council of Life Insurers’ 2025 Rising Leader program. The program recognizes the next generation of life insurance leaders and provides participants with increased knowledge and advocacy to help move the industry forward.

Caitlin Glynn was promoted to partner in the private client department at Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP in Boston. She advises clients on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and probate law.


Nicholas J. Stabile ’13

Nicholas Stabile was promoted to partner in the private client department at Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP in Boston. He counsels clients in all estate planning matters, including probate, estate and trust administration, and estate and gift tax planning.


Allison Stoddart ’13

Allison Stoddart has a new position as chief counsel to the mayor and city hall of New York City. She previously was of counsel at WilmerHale.


Matthew A. Karambelas ’14

Matthew Karambelas was promoted to partner of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky, and Popeo PC in Boston. As a member of the firm’s IP litigation group, he handles trials and appeals from cases at the US International Trade Commission and US District Courts.


Kellie W. Fisher ’15

Kellie Fisher was honored as one of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 40 under 40 for her leadership, achievement, and skill in the bankruptcy and insolvency sector. She is an attorney at Drummond Woodsum in Portland, ME, and focuses her practice on bankruptcy matters, commercial litigation, and transactions involving distressed companies.

Katherine Hyland joined Pierce Atwood LLP in Boston, MA, as counsel in the firm’s real estate practice group. She previously was an associate in the real estate transactions and investments group at Ropes & Gray LLP.

Lawton Leung was promoted to partner at Withers law firm in New Haven, CT. He advises on US domestic and international tax, trust, and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and their families.


Sara L. Wong ’15

Sara Wong is a litigation partner at Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP in Boston. She primarily focuses her practice on business litigation and intellectual property litigation, particularly copyright and trademark law.


Ehsan Akbari ’16

Ehsan Akbari joined Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman LLP in New York City as a senior associate. He is experienced in handling professional liability, general liability, New York labor law, construction defect, and automotive litigation.


Matthew D. Geduldig ’16

Matthew Geduldig was promoted to partner at the Boston office of the international law firm Proskauer. As a member of the private investment funds group, he advises on the various stages of venture capital and private equity fund formations.

Mai Zymaris ’17
