Ray Madoff Testifies Before Canadian Senate

Professor's expertise sought on donor-advised funds.

       

Professor Ray Madoff, an expert on charitable tax policy, testified on the subject before the Canadian Senate on September 24. She appeared as part of a study of the impact of federal and provincial laws and policies governing charities, nonprofit organizations, and foundations. The study is also examining the impact of the voluntary sector in Canada.

The Senate Special Committee on the Charitable Sector is specifically looking into the funding of the sector with a focus on the role of foundations and donor-advised funds.

Madoff,  the co-founder and director of the Boston College Law School Forum on Philanthropy and the Public Good, is a leading authority on the issues being addressed.
