One Night, Two Lives, Changed Forever

A 1L's outlook on the law is transformed by an 8-year-old stranger in a hospital bed.

“There come few more humbling experiences in life than getting destroyed at a video game by an 8 year old. In my heyday, I knew my way around a PlayStation controller. But times have changed.”

So begins Thomas Blakely’s deeply personal story of what happened when he decided to become involved in community service to shake off the feeling that something was missing in his life and to do something good for others.

That impulse led him to Boston Children’s Hospital, where he was assigned to provide companionship to the young patients.

What happened next was unforgettable and altered his understanding of the law.
