BC Law Moves Up Ten Spots in Above the Law Rankings

The Law School came in at #16 this year.

Boston College Law School has moved up ten spots to #16 in the twelfth annual edition of Above the Law’s Top 50 Law School Rankings

The ATL rankings are determined based on six metrics: quality of jobs score (40%), employment score (30%), projected cost (10%), first-time bar passage (10%), federal judges (5%), and SCOTUS clerks (5%). Employment outcomes are prioritized in order to determine if the school is worth the cost (money and time) of attendance. The total score is meant to serve as a comprehensive guide in deciding whether and where to attend law school, particularly in terms of future employment prospects.

This measurement is corroborated by the new topline statistics for BC Law’s Class of 2023, which shows the class has a 97.9% employment rate, with 96.7% of graduates landing “Real Lawyer Jobs” (full-time, long-term, bar passage required, or JD advantage positions). This is an improvement from the Class of 2022, who had a 95.7% employment rate with 93.8% of graduates in “Real Lawyer Jobs.”

BC Law is highly ranked by numerous other reputable sources, coming in at #28 in US News & World Report’s Best Law Schools, #15 on the list for National Law Journal’s Top 50 Go-To Law Schools for Big Law, as well as #9 for Best Quality of Life and #10 for the Best Classroom Experience by the Princeton Review.
