David Wirth 

Legal Leaders: David Wirth was appointed to the Trade and Environment Policy Advisory Committee, which advised the US Trade Representative, a member of President Joe Biden’s Cabinet. E. Joan Blum was named an honorary professor of Tashkent State University of Law, a renowned center of legal education in Uzbekistan. Cathleen Kaveny’s book, Prophecy without Contempt: Religious Discourse in the Public Square, was named to Current’s top 100 books of the 21st century. James Repetti’s 7th edition of “Partnership Income Taxation” received a glowing review in the Journal of the American Taxation Association.


In Their Elements: Thomas Mitchell presented on heirs’ property and Black land loss at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 53rd Annual Legislative Conference. Kevin Powers spoke to the Boston Globe about the growing dangers of data breaches and hacks. Under Reena Parikh’s leadership, BC Law’s Civil Rights Clinic filed a class action lawsuit regarding solitary confinement, and released a groundbreaking report with MassCOSH about improving labor practices. 


Corporate Watchdogs: Brian Quinn was featured in the Wall Street Journal about the court ruling that rejected Elon Musk’s multibillion-dollar Tesla pay package, and was quoted in the New York Times about Paramount Global’s new CEO. Thomas Kohler was mentioned in the Associated Press about the suspension of the International Longshoremen’s Association strike for higher wages and automation restrictions. David Olson was quoted in a Yahoo Finance article on the implications of Google’s potential breakup. He also provided insight to the Associated Press on the effects of loosening reigns on Big Tech monopolies under Trump’s presidency.  


Political Affairs: Jeffrey Cohen was quoted in the Washington Post on Trump’s criminal cases. Dan Kanstroom spoke to WBUR about Trump’s plan to deport migrants. David Wirth weighed in on Bloomberg News about the Paris Accords. Ray Madoff was quoted in a DeSmog newsletter on the dangerously inadequate regulations governing the use of dark money donations to Project 2025.
