Geiza Vargas-Vargas

Geiza Vargas-Vargas is a partner in the Charleston, SC, office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP and focuses her practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, finance, and general corporate law. Previously, she was an assistant professor and assistant dean of academic success at Charleston School of Law and an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

       

First Job: “After graduating from Wellesley College, I worked at a pension fund advisor and fell in love with investment banking and acquisitions. When I entered law school, I already knew I wanted to practice corporate law.” Conundrum: “Reconciling the work that I do and love to do with my opinions about structures and systems that perpetuate socio-economic and racial inequity.” Favorite Color: “Black, although living in Charleston now, I find myself wearing Nantucket Red.” Describe Yourself in One Word: “Fierce.” Early Influence: “My mom—she’s also fierce.”
