Leila Amineddoleh ’06 

Leila Amineddoleh ’06 is the founder of Amineddoleh & Associates LLC, which worked on the recent repatriation and loan agreement between the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Worcester Art Museum. As part of the agreement, the museum will display two items as long-term loans for four to eight years. After this loan period, the objects will be returned to Italy in exchange for a loan of comparable antiquities from Italian museums. The loans will recur on a rotating basis. This is the first such agreement of its kind for the museum.


David P. Twomey ’68

David Twomey recently retired from Boston College after fifty-six years on the faculty. He was a Carroll School of Management professor of business law and society and a labor law expert whom six different United States presidents appointed to ten presidential emergency boards. 


Edward J. Markey ’72

Senator Edward Markey was named a ranking member of the US Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. He is working to build a fair, just, opportunity economy for entrepreneurs and the 34 million small businesses across the country. 


 Robert C. Scott ’73

Representative Robert Scott has a new position on the House budget committee, where he is a leading voice on fiscal policy. He has represented Virginia’s third congressional district in the US House of Representatives since 1993. 


 J. David Leslie ’74

J. David Leslie has joined Boston law firm Davis Malm to launch the firm’s insurance regulatory practice. This practice was established to address the increasingly complex and evolving needs of clients navigating regulatory, administrative, and compliance challenges. Leslie has over fifty years of corporate and litigation experience, representing insurance regulators in complex issues and counseling insurance companies and agencies. 


Deborah J. Goddard ’81

Deborah has a new position as secretary of housing for Rhode Island. She previously served as the principal for DJ Goddard Consulting.


Chuck Greaves ’81

Chuck Greaves, a lawyer-turned-novelist, was inducted into the Hall of Fame of his hometown, Levittown, NY, in March. Greaves writes the award-winning Jack MacTaggart series of legal mysteries and has authored three stand-alone novels. 


Javier D. Ferrer-Fernández ’86

Javier Ferrer-Fernández is the president, chief operating officer, and director at Popular, Inc., the principal financial institution in Puerto Rico. He oversees business groups, corporate strategic planning, and the transformation office. 


Kevin J. O’Connor ’89

Kevin O’Connor joined the Boston office of Mirick O’Connell as a partner in the firm’s business litigation group. He represents businesses, officers, directors, and shareholders in disputes involving securities, corporate governance, fiduciary duties, contracts, business torts, and intellectual property.


 Jared W. Huffman ’90

Representative Jared Huffman was unanimously elected as ranking member of the House Natural Resources Committee. He is a former state lawmaker and attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council and is in his seventh term in Congress. Huffman is committed to defending our coastlines from offshore drilling and has previously introduced legislation to protect the Pacific and Arctic Oceans. 


ileta A. Sumner ’90

ileta Sumner wrote an article for San Antonio Lawyer, the San Antonio Bar Association’s official publication, about how her birthday, June 19, became a federal holiday. In 2023, Sumner received a Star of the Bar award from the State Bar of Texas for an article in the May-June 2023 issue of San Antonio Lawyer


Karen J. Crawford ’93

Karen Crawford recently started a blog to explain immigration policy entitled Navigating a Labyrinth, thoughts on how the immigration system works or doesn’t work. She also continues to practice immigration law in Austin, TX. 


Mary V. Slinkard ’94

Mary Slinkard is publishing her debut legal thriller, Her Final Gamble, this May. The novel follows a Boston College-educated criminal defense attorney whose life unravels after a tragic accident, forcing her into a battle for justice, reputation, and redemption. Beyond the gripping mystery, the novel also raises awareness about epilepsy. 


Michael C. Hochman ’95

Michael Hochman has joined Sidley as a partner in the firm’s privacy and cybersecurity practice in Washington, DC, following his four years of service at the White House Office of the National Cyber Director. 


Shaun Spencer ’95

Shaun Spencer was named a 2024 “Lawyer of the Year” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly for his advocacy in Openshaw v. Openshaw, 493 Mass. 599 (Mass. 2024), in which the SJC held that a couple’s pattern of saving during their marriage should be considered when calculating an alimony award. Shaun maintains an appellate practice and has been a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts School of Law since 2011. 


Lori Blodorn ’97

Lori Blodorn has been appointed as the inaugural vice president for people and culture at California State University, Bakersfield. In this role, she oversees the strategic priorities of developing a positive, inspirational culture focused on excellence and belongingness. 


 Geaneen M. Arends ’98

Geaneen Arends is among attorneys named to the 2024 “Go To Lawyers Power List” by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. She is recognized in the category of business transactions. Arends is a Butzel vice president in the Detroit office and serves on the firm’s board of directors. 


Barbara Trachtenberg ’98

Barbara Trachtenberg has joined the Polsinelli law firm’s Boston office as a shareholder in its real estate practice. She previously served as co-vice chair of US real estate at DLA Piper. She is an advisor to real estate investors and represents an expansive portfolio of clients.


Darryl Wegner ’01

Darryl Wegner retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation after twenty-one-years as a special agent, focusing primarily on white-collar crime and national security investigations across assignments in Boston, Houston, and Washington, DC. Following his retirement, Wegner joined PKF O’Connor Davies, an accounting, tax, and advisory firm, as a managing director in its forensic, litigation, and valuation practice.


 Earl Adams ’02

Earl Adams has a new position as vice president of public policy and regulatory affairs for Plus, an AI company with autonomous driving solutions. He has over twenty years of experience in regulatory counseling, public policy, and safety advocacy in the transportation industry.


Melissa L. McDonagh ’04

Melissa McDonagh has been elected by Littler Mendelson, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice, to its 2025 board of directors.  


James Hein ’05

James Hein has started a solo law practice in Portland, OR, after practicing for nearly twenty years at a large law firm. He will provide the same business-law services as before: contract drafting, business formation and structure, mergers and acquisitions, and thorny business separations.


Lena M. Surilov ’05

Lena Surilov was promoted to equity member at Otterbourg PC in the New York, NY, office. She represents financial institutions and other commercial finance companies in structuring, negotiating, and documenting domestic and cross-border complex debt financing transactions, with a focus on asset-based financing.


Julie M. Morgan ’06

Julie Morgan was named president of The Century Foundation, a leading progressive think tank. For the past two decades, she has been at the forefront of driving innovative policymaking, strengthening democratic institutions, and fighting corporate abuses in health care, education, and finance.


Michael Goldman ’07

Michael Goldman’s article about his Supreme Court win, “After Sixty-Eight Years of Darkness, It’s a New Dawn in Marine Insurance Law,” was published in the Winter 2025 issue of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. In Great Lakes Ins. SE v. Raiders Retreat Realty Co., the Supreme Court determined that choice-of-law clauses in marine insurance policies must be followed, and state laws can’t override them. 


Stuart T. Leslie ’07

Stuart T. Leslie has joined Boston law firm Davis Malm to launch the firm’s insurance regulatory practice. This practice was established to address the increasingly complex and evolving needs of clients navigating regulatory, administrative, and compliance challenges. Leslie has a deep knowledge and understanding of complex insurance regulatory, coverage, and compliance issues. 


Andres F. Torres ’08

Andres Torres was presented by the Federal Drug Agents Foundation (FDAF) with the “True American Hero Award” in recognition of a complex case that he prosecuted involving multiple kidnappings, assaults, and drug trafficking. Torres is the co-chief of the Special Investigations Bureau at the office of the special narcotics prosecutor for New York City.

Arivee Vargas is the author of Your Time to Rise, published in January 2025. The book provides a four-part framework to navigate personal and professional inflection points to increase self-awareness, gain clarity, uncover your truth, envision possibilities, and align what’s inside with what you’re doing, saying, and pursuing on the outside. 


Colin Levy ’10

Colin Levy was promoted to general counsel at Malbek, a leading provider of contract lifecycle management solutions. In his expanded role, he navigates complex international regulations and industry-specific requirements while managing organizational risk across diverse markets.


 Francis J. Bingham ’11

Francis Bingham co-founded Canopy Workplace Partners, a firm that provides external workplace investigations, training, and executive coaching for employers. He was previously a partner at Littler Mendelson, an international labor and employment firm. 


 Christopher M. Wildenhain ’11

Christopher Wildenhain was promoted to partner at the Providence, RI, office of Patridge Snow & Hahn. He is a commercial litigator representing publicly traded companies, private businesses, entrepreneurs, and employers in complex disputes before the RI and MA state and federal courts and regulatory agencies. 


Sonia Russo ’13

Sonia Russo was selected as the Colorado Bar Association’s 2024 “Outstanding Young Lawyer.” She is the senior assistant attorney general at the Colorado Department of Law. She has over ten years of experience in civil and criminal cases at both the trial and appellate levels, including significant jury trial experience.


Rion M. Vaughan ’13

Rion has joined Rubin and Rudman LLP as a partner in Boston office’s bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice group. He represents clients in formal and out-of-court insolvency proceedings. His practice spans several key areas, including bankruptcy restructuring, distressed financing, M&A transactions, and bankruptcy litigation in state and federal courts.


Kristen Williams ’13

Kristen Williams was appointed COO of Community Legal Aid, a Worcester-based nonprofit. In her new executive capacity, she manages the organization’s day-to-day administrative and operational functions, which serve more than 8,000 low-income and elderly residents annually. 


Lynndon K. Groff ’14

Lynndon Groff was promoted to partner at the Philadelphia, PA, office of White and Williams. He focuses his practice on complex insurance coverage disputes, including matters involving exposure to hazardous substances such as per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances and asbestos, environmental pollution, and various unique liabilities. 


Andrew M. Trombly ’14 

Andrew Trombly has been appointed deputy chief of the cybercrime unit at the US Attorney’s office for the district of New Jersey.


Jordan Price ’15

Jordan Price was promoted to partner at the Boston office of MG + M. Her practice centers on complex civil matters, including products liability, general liability, construction, professional liability, and premises liability matters.


Jennawe M. Hughes ’17

Jennawe Hughes has joined Morgan, Brown & Joy as an associate in their Boston office. She advises and defends employers in matters related to the employer-employee relationship and handles various claims related to employment discrimination, hostile work environment, retaliation, and wage and hour issues. 


Alexander Porter ’17

Alexander Porter has a new position as senior tax counsel at the office of US Senator Mark Warner. Porter has extensive experience counseling policymakers on economic issues.


David Hori ’18

David Hori joined Schwabe’s Portland, OR, office as an associate. He specializes in handling issues related to complex cleanup and remediation activities, assisting clients with environmental litigation, and resolving compliance disputes with regulatory agencies.  


Jason Kim ’20

Jason Kim has joined Morrison Foerster as an associate in the Tokyo, Japan, office’s real estate group. Previously, Jason was an associate with another international law firm in Boston and New York, where he represented clients in a wide range of real estate transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and developments.


Brian Mahoney ’20

Brian Mahoney has joined Fox Rothschild’s Boston office as an associate in the litigation department. He guides clients through all stages of the litigation process and provides advice on risk mitigation. His experience includes criminal defense and prosecution, internal investigations, personnel actions, and ethics reviews.  


Ariana L. Mirzakashani ’22

Ariana Mirzakashani has joined Sherin and Lodgen’s Boston office as an associate in the real estate department. Mirzakashani focuses her practice on commercial real estate transactions and assists clients with all aspects of their leasing, acquisition, disposition, and financing needs.


Emily E. Nasiff ’24

Emily Nasiff has a new position as policy director at the Department of Human Services’ Office of Women’s Advancement for the city of Boston.  


Jonathan Sturr ’24

Jonathan Sturr has been awarded a coveted Massachusetts Attorney General fellowship. This two-year placement offers the opportunity to practice law and policy in the largest public-sector legal office in the Commonwealth. The placement begins this fall at the end of his judicial clerkship at the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
