Brakeyshia Samms

The senior analyst at the Institute of Taxation and Economic Policy was welcomed by the Tax Policy Workshop to present her article on the potential of tax reform to reduce racial retirement wealth inequality. Samms has produced research and analysis for tax policy debates for more than a decade to help advance equitable tax policies and solutions that remedy historical injustices.


Julie Kearney

Kearney, a lawyer in the technology, satellite, space, and telecommunications industry, spoke to the Space Law Society. With over twenty-five years in government and the public sector, she served as the Federal Communications Commission’s inaugural chief of the Space Bureau. Kearney is now co-chair of the space exploration and innovation practice and partner of DLA Piper’s Telecom Group.


Tamar Herzog

The legal scholar and author presented her recent work at a BC Law Faculty Workshop. She shared her expertise on slavery and European colonial law in Africa, Asia, and the Americas during the early modern period. Herzog is a professor of Latin American affairs at Harvard University, a Radcliffe alumna professor, and an affiliated faculty member at Harvard Law School. 


Nick Macri ’14

Macri, director of compliance at the NFL, was hosted by the Sports & Entertainment Law Society for a discussion on his work handling compliance issues in the global sports market. He also spoke about how his career trajectory, including seven years as an associate at Ropes & Gray working on multiple SEC investigations, prepared him for this role.


Anat Lior

Lior shared her research on insurance and liability policies in the age of artificial intelligence at the Regulation & Markets Workshop. A leading expert in this evolving area, Lior is an assistant professor at Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law, an AI Schmidt-affiliated scholar with the Jackson School at Yale, and an affiliated fellow at the Yale Information Society Project.
