The Boston Bar Association annually welcomes a selective group of lawyers to its Public Interest Leadership Program (PILP). Of the 29 lawyers in this year’s class, four are BC Law alumni: Tess Edwards ’20, Niccolo Gandini ’19, Jordan Walker ’22, and Justin Woolf ’16.

PILP is a year-long program dedicated to providing lawyers with enhanced leadership and professional skills. Participants will leave the program better equipped to lead and influence in their respective legal fields.

“We are thrilled that Jordan, Justin, Niccolo, and Tess were selected to join the 2025-2026 BBA’s Public Interest Leadership Program, continuing BC’s strong presence in the program. BC Law’s academic, experiential, and community offerings and programs revolve around a deep and longstanding commitment to serving others and building our students’ capacities to rise to the challenges of leading in ways that will positively impact communities,” said Michelle Grossfield, director of the Law School’s public interest and pro bono programs.

“The work these incredible alumni are already doing in Massachusetts demonstrates their skill and commitment to service and their participation in PILP will continue to broaden their opportunities for impact,” she added.

Edwards is an associate in Pierce Atwood’s Real Estate Practice Group, specializing in zoning and permitting matters. While at BC Law, she was president of the Environmental Law Society and taught in the BC Environmental Law Teaching Program.

Gandini is an Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, specifically working in the Gang Unit. There, he is part of the Homicide Response team and works to better understand the root causes of such crimes.

Walker is a Staff Attorney at The Second Step, a nonprofit supporting domestic violence survivors. She provides free legal services to survivors, including representation in court. While at BC Law, Walker participated as a student attorney in the Boston College Legal Services civil litigation clinic.

Woolf is a Staff Attorney at the Disability Law Center and has experience as a trial attorney at the Committee for Public Counsel Services. At BC Law, he received a fellowship from Equal Justice America and worked at the Central West Justice Center in Worcester, MA.
