Hon. Edward F. Harrington retired as senior district judge of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts in September after thirty-five years on the federal bench. He was appointed to the court in February 1988 and assumed senior status in 2001. Harrington previously worked in the US Department of Justice in Washington, DC, and in Boston and is one of only seven individuals who served as both US district judge and US attorney for the District of Massachusetts since its establishment in 1789.
