Of his Karen Read illustration, he says, “Creating a collage is often like collecting and piecing together evidence.”
David Reich
Writer Reich is the author of the novel The Antiracism Trainings and a longtime contributor to BC Law Magazine. His reporting has covered law, police reform, economics, and culture. While working on “Trial by Fire,” a feature on the Karen Read defense, he says he came away with “a more nuanced understanding of the issues involved in this complicated case.”
Jane Whitehead
Writer British-born and Oxford-educated, Jane Whitehead is a regular contributor to BC Law Magazine. Daniel Bejar
Illustrator Bejar is a conceptual illustrator and artist based in New York City whose work has appeared for clients including Apple, The New York Times, TIME, and Harper’s. For his incarceration feature illustrations, he sought to show how the symbols of incarceration can be transformed into pathways forward for those reentering society.
