LAHANAS, Boston College Law School’s umbrella organization for affinity groups, held its 2026 kickoff event on September 16. The annual tradition is a time for members of the community—students, faculty and staff—to welcome new students and continue the celebration of community. All are invited to pause and enjoy each other’s company a few weeks into the new semester. With a number of events attended and many more upcoming within this vibrant campus community, attendees enjoyed conversation and refreshments on a beautiful fall evening on the patio of Barat House.
This year’s LAHANAS leaders, Eimaan Anwar and Sophia Mosley, mingled with attendees, deeply appreciative of the sense of community this organization represents. Each, alongside classmates, recall how quickly time flies and the milestones this event marks each year.
“LAHANAS is built around community, and it was great for new and returning students to join us in celebrating the start of the academic year and receive a warm welcome from faculty and administrators,” said Anwar, the 3L LAHANAS director. “We’re excited for the year ahead with a calendar full of professional, social, and academic events.”
Sophia Mosley, the 2L director, shared similar thoughts. “It was so great to see such a wonderful turnout of 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls at the annual kickoff,” she said, calling it an opportunity for everyone to feel a part of the community at BC Law.
In addition to the directors, LAHANAS has added 1L representatives Victoria Rinn, Toyosi Adeleke, Bryan Martinez, and Anna Lessard. “We are grateful,” the directors said, “to have them join us in sharing information with the 1Ls as they juggle numerous demands.”
