Joann Russell

Joann Russell, retired and pursuing her passions, is currently a PhD research student at the University of Leicester, England. Her thesis explores whether World War II accelerated or slowed the civil rights movement. It is titled “The Elusive Promise: The gap between the rhetoric of civil rights progress and the lived experiences of Black Americans during World War II and beyond.”
