Shaun Spencer was named a 2024 “Lawyer of the Year” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly for his advocacy in Openshaw v. Openshaw, 493 Mass. 599 (Mass. 2024), in which the SJC held that a couple’s pattern of saving during their marriage should be considered when calculating an alimony award. Shaun maintains an appellate practice and has been a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts School of Law since 2011.
