Former US Senator Bob Casey’s commencement address championed judicial independence and drew rounds of applause from BC Law’s 210 JD and 12 LLM graduates. He urged them to use their conduct and voice to condemn falsehoods against judges to ensure that the American judiciary remained “the envy of the world.” The May 23 ceremony at Conte Forum included words of wisdom from Dean Odette Lienau, BC President William P. Leahy, SJ, and Associate Dean of Faculty Paulo Barrozo. Top honors bestowed at Commencement went to Lee Moore (academic rank), Samuel Hodgkins-Sumner (intellectual qualities), Morgan Byrne (public service), and Andrea Traietti (scholarship and service).
