LLAHANAS, Boston College Law School’s umbrella organization for affinity groups, held its 2026 kickoff event on September 16. As members of APALSA, BLSA, DLSA, LALSA, LAMBDA, and MESALSA—along with faculty, staff, and new students—gathered at Barat House, the Law School’s multiculturalism spilled onto its sunny patio.
Some 40 BC Law student organizations cultivate community on a variety of fronts. LAHANAS focuses on supporting those from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds in their transition to the Law School and fosters relationships with external sponsors committed to increasing variety in the legal profession.
“LAHANAS is built around community, and it was great for new and returning students to join us in celebrating the start of the academic year and receive a warm welcome from faculty and administrators,” said 3L LAHANAS director Eimaan Anwar. “We’re excited for the year ahead with a calendar full of professional, social, and academic events.”
Sophia Mosley, the 2L director, shared similar thoughts. “It was so great to see such a wonderful turnout of 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls at the annual kickoff,” she said, calling it an opportunity for everyone to feel a part of the community at BC Law.
Anwar also used the moment to announce this year’s LAHANAS 1L representatives: Victoria Rinn, Toyosi Adeleke, Bryan Martinez, and Anna Lessard.
